As an undergraduate student at Texas Women's University, Alyson Bayer used to suffer from weekly if not more frequent migraines. One day in class, a professor lectured about the potential benefits of Acupuncture for all of a minute. It was enough to pique her interest. She decided to find an Acupuncturist and after her first treatment Alyson was a changed woman. Between the Acupuncture, Chinese herbs and lifestyle changes, she no longer suffer from migraine headaches. This was enough to change her direction in life and enroll in a Masters program for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Chinese Healing Arts

Thank you for your interest in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

Today, Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine are growing in popularity as one of the many choices we have to achieve health. That choice is a holistic, dynamic and integrated health care system that activates the natural, self-healing abilities of the mind and body. In addition, Acupuncture and Chinese medicine work preventively to strengthen and support the body to prevent future health concerns. Most importantly, Chinese medicine views each person and their experiences as unique and individual, even from treatment to treatment. This makes it an effective means of diagnosing and treating people that has been around for thousands of years.

Acupuncture can help with musculoskeletal issues and pain, allergies, women's health, arthritis, headache, migraine, pediatric reflux, stroke, digestive problems, menopausal symptoms, facial rejuvenation, fibromyalgia, cold, flu and plantar fasciitis.

Acupressure is helpful treating allergies, facial rejuvenation, trauma, chronic pain, digestive concerns, pediatrics and musculoskeletal issues and pain.

Chinese Medicine Cupping is often used for allergies and musculoskeletal issues and pain

Here at Acupuncture By Alyson, I believe that good health already lies within everybody. The key to treating with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is to remind the body and mind what a healthful balance is. This balance can be achieved through Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Chinese nutritional counseling, Tui Na (Chinese body-work), cupping, and lifestyle counseling. We embrace the knowledge that lifestyle, environmental and psycho-social factors are determinants of health.
